A recent ransomware attack allegedly lifted theft from Texas-based CHRISTUS Health, a huge healthcare entity that operates over 600 healthcare facilities in the U.S. (Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Arkansas), as well as Mexico and South America.

A sample of data allegedly stolen from the CHRISTUS network was posted on the AvosLocker dark web leak site, including names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, diagnoses and other medical information.

In a statement, CHRISTUS Health admitted it recently learned of “unauthorized activity” on its computer network, though called the incident “limited.”

CHRISTUS Health has not spoken on the matter of data exfiltration, ransomware or any extortion demand.
