Globe Life Data Breach Investigation

The Lyon Firm is reviewing Globe Life data breach claims for plaintiffs nationwide after an alleged cyberattack recently caught the company IT network off-guard. Contact our data breach lawyers if you have been contacted by Globe or another company regarding a data theft incident. We represent clients nationwide and offer free case reviews.

Globe Life has said it started an initial investigation into “potential vulnerabilities related to access permissions and user identity management for a Company web portal.” Such “vulnerabilities” may have granted unauthorized access to consumer and policyholder information. It is not clear at the moment exactly what type of data may have been compromised.

The insurance company noted that it hired outside cybersecurity experts to help with the investigation. We do not know if Globe Life was targeted in a ransomware attack, though such data security incidents are not uncommon and many insurance companies have been targeted by hackers in recent years.

What Happened at Globe Life?

On June 14, 2024, Globe Life filed a notice with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) after apparently experiencing a cybersecurity incident. An investigation is ongoing, and if data was in fact leaked, the company will begin to send out data breach notification letters to all individuals whose information was impacted.

If you receive a data breach notification from Globe or another company, it is important to know what risks are involved. It is important to note that no data breach has been confirmed, and there are several unknowns at this juncture.
