Point32Health, a nonprofit that provides healthcare services to more than 2 million customers, confirmed a ransomware attack on its systems.

In a statement from on its website, the organization described a ransomware attack that affected systems used for member services, accounts, brokers and providers.

Point32Health, based out of Canton, Massachusetts, is one of New England’s largest healthcare insurance providers. Affected systems are allegedly limited to Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, which serves more than one million members.

Harvard Pilgrim Health Care confirmed through its Facebook page that it was experiencing “technical issues.” Over the last few years, the healthcare sector has been increasingly targeted by ransomware, impacting hundreds of healthcare organizations.
