On November 7, 2022, TransUnion began sending out data breach notification letters regarding a security incident that may impact thousands of individuals.

While the total number of people affected by the TransUnion data breach is unknown, the company has stated that it possesses “200 million files profiling nearly every credit-active consumer in the United States.”
