The Lyon Firm is investigating a reported University Medical Center Southern Nevada (UMC) data breach that may have exposed some employee and patient protected health information (PHI) of around 1.3 million patients.

The UMC Las Vegas, Nevada medical center suffered a cyberattack in mid-June which left the hospital with “intermittent computer login issues.” An investigation then discovered that the “suspicious activity” was caused by hackers who they believe accessed a server used to store patient data.
