Apollo Career Center, an Ohio adult education center, has announced a data security incident that may have impacted the personal information of thousands of individuals.
Through a data breach investigation with the assistance of cybersecurity experts, Apollo concluded that an unauthorized person obtained access to its network in May 2021, and transferred some files to an external source.
In September 2021, Apollo discovered that that some personal information related to former Apollo students, enrolled between 1957 and 2008, may have been stolen by the hacker. The data in the files that may have been taken includes former students’ names and Social Security numbers.
