In a recent announcement, the mortgage lending company, LendUS, stated that it has experienced a security breach that has impacted the personal information of at least 12,000 individuals.
In data breach notification letters sent out to those possibly affected, LendUS says the company’s employee email accounts had been compromised by an unauthorized individual. A data breach investigation determined that the names and Social Security numbers of thousands of customers were possibly leaked from company emails and attachments.
