On June 24, 2021, Metro Infectious Disease Consultant (MIDC) learned that individuals’ personal data could have been accessed when an unauthorized third party gained access to employees’ email accounts. The data breach has been reported on the HHS site, and notes that over 171,000 individuals may be impacted.

At the moment, Metro Infectious Disease Consultant says its is not certain that the stolen personal information has been misused for the purpose of committing fraud or identity theft, but since the data has been compromised, victims are urged to take action.

The data compromised varies from person to person, but may include the following:

  • Address
  • Date of birth
  • Account number
  • Insurance information
  • Prescription information
  • Clinical information
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license number

Metro Infectious Disease Consultant (MIDC) has contained the data breach incident by securing email accounts and is offering complimentary identity protection and credit monitoring services for those individuals whose Social Security numbers or driver’s license numbers were involved.
