WHAT HAPPENED?

On March 20, 2022, Carolina Behavioral Health Alliance experienced a ransomware attack, potentially compromising the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information of 138,000 individuals.

According to a notice on the company’s website, the data breach may have impacted the information of plan members of the following: LiveWELL Health Plan, Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center and Affiliates Employee Benefits Plan, and Wake Forest University Health and Welfare Benefit Plan.

The type of personal information exposed may include:

  • Social Security number
  • Address
  • Date of Birth
  • Provider names
