What Happened at MESVision?
On November 14, 2023, Medical Eye Services (MESVision) filed a notice of data breach with the Attorney General of Maine after discovering that they were yet another company impacted by the massive MOVEit data breach incident in May 2023. MESVision, like many other healthcare or finance companies, used a file-transfer program called MOVEit, which was hacked by a ransomware group.
In a letter to individuals, MESVision explains that an unauthorized party was able to access consumers’ sensitive information, which includes their names and Social Security numbers.
