Mission Community Hospital Ransomware Investigation

Panorama City, California-based Mission Community Hospital was allegedly infected by ransomware after a hacker group exploited vulnerabilities in its systems, according to DataBreaches.net.

According to the report, the hacker group named RansomHouse says it has 2.5 terabytes of the hospital’s data and added the following note: “Dear Mission Community Hospital Management, We strongly recommend you to contact us to prevent your confidential data or research data to be leaked or sold to a third party.”

Rather than encrypting stolen files, the group reportedly exfiltrated them and demanded a ransom in exchange for deleting them.
