OSF Healthcare Data Breach | MOVEit Class Action Lawsuit

What Happened at OSF Healthcare?

OSF HealthCare patients received data breach notification letters several months after the MOVEit breach was discovered, placing millions at risk of fraud and medical identity theft.

It is now well known that the Welltok breach impacted OSF patients in Illinois and millions of patients from other health systems around the country. According to letters sent to individuals, hackers breached Welltok’s MOVEit file transfer data server on May 30, 2023. The letter states information compromised may contain patients’ names, dates of birth and diagnoses.

Operating out of Peoria, Illinois, OSF HealthCare is a not-for-profit Catholic health care organization that operates a medical group, hospital system, and other health care facilities in Illinois and Michigan. OSF employs nearly 24,000 staff at more than 145 locations, including 15 hospitals, 10 acute care, four critical access and 32 urgent care locations.
