Planet Home Lending Data Breach Investigation

On January 24, 2024,  Planet Home filed a notice of data breach with the Attorney General of Maine and sent out data breach letters to individuals affected by a recent data security incident.

The company recently discovered that they were the target of a ransomware attack that resulted in an unauthorized party accessing consumers’ sensitive information, including names, addresses, Social Security numbers, loan numbers, and financial account numbers.

On November 15, 2023, Planet Home Lending first discovered the alleged data breach. Sensitive personal identifiable information was accessed through a vulnerability in a Citrix Systems, Inc. software program used by the company.
