On November 15, 2023, Westside Community Services (AKA Westside Health) filed a notice of data breach with the Attorney General of California after they discovered unauthorized access to their computer network.

The Westside Health data breach was recently announced, and as the investigation unfolds more specifics of the incident will be disclosed. Officials have confirmed, however, that there was indeed unauthorized access to the Westside Health computer network between April 25, 2023 and May 1, 2023. The hackers may have accessed and acquired files containing confidential patient data.

In their provided notification, Westside says the incident resulted in an unauthorized party accessing the following sensitive information:

  • Names
  • Social Security numbers
  • Dates of birth
  • Driver’s license numbers
  • Passport numbers
  • Financial account information
  • Medical information
  • Health insurance information

If you have received a data breach notification from Westside Community Services, please take appropriate data security measures and understand what is at risk. Any data breach significantly raises the risk of future fraud and identity theft, and victims should remain vigilant for any signs of financial or medical identity theft.
