The Lyon Firm is investigating claims of a data breach at Azura Vascular Care that according to the HHS  has impacted as many as 348,000 individuals. Contact our legal team to discuss your legal options and to learn more about the “hacking/IT incident” at Azura.

In a “Notice for Patients” posted on the company website, Azura says that in November 2023 they confirmed that some of the stored patient personal information had been affected by a cybersecurity incident.

After an investigation, they concluded that around September 2023, the hackers accessed systems and encrypted certain files. The personal information on the affected computer systems may have included the following: name, mailing address, date of birth, and other demographic and contact information, including emergency contact information, Social Security number, insurance policy and guarantor information, diagnosis and treatment information, and other information from medical or billing records.

Azura Vascular Care has begun sending out data breach notification letters to individuals whose information was contained on their computer systems. For some individuals, only name and contact information were leaked. For others, more sensitive information like date of birth, Social Security Number, and clinical information may have been compromised.

Based out of Malvern, Pennsylvania, Azura operates 70 clinics in 25 states and Puerto Rico. The company operates and manages outpatient vascular centers and ambulatory surgery centers specializing in minimally invasive techniques to treat a range of vascular conditions, including dialysis access management, peripheral arterial disease, uterine fibroids, varicose veins, varicoceles and more.
