BerryDunn Data Breach Investigation

The Lyon Firm is investigating a data security incident at BerryDunn, linked to an alleged intrusion at Health Analytics Practice Group (HAPG) that used a managed service provider called Reliable Networks. What Happened at BerryDunn?

According to a statement posted on their website, BerryDunn was notified on September 14, 2023 that one of its vendors, Reliable Networks of Maine, LLC discovered suspicious network activity. Reliable Networks manages systems for Health Analytics Practice Group (HAPG).

BerryDunn hired cybersecurity experts to assist with an investigation and to determine what type of data was compromised. The ensuing investigation found that an unauthorized actor gained access to Reliable’s network and stole data stored on HAPG systems. BerryDunn completed a review on April 2, 2024 and concluded that the following personal information may have been potentially hacked:

  • Names
  • Addresses
  • Dates of birth
  • Social Security numbers
  • Health insurance policy numbers
  • Medicare or Medicaid numbers
  • State or governmental ID numbers
  • Passport numbers
  • Medical information

On April 25, 2024, BerryDunn filed a notice with the Attorney General of Maine regarding the Health Analytics Practice Group and Reliable Networks data breach.
