In June 2023, Cadence Bank discovered that it had been the target of a  data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information (PII) in its systems may have been accessed and acquired.

Due to the high risk of fraud and identity theft following a data breach event, it is advisable to take immediate actions and protect yourself. Contact our lawyers to discuss your next steps and to consider legal recourse.

It was concluded after the investigation by Cadence that an unauthorized third-party exploited the zero-day vulnerability and accessed and downloaded information being stored within the MOVEit application (a popular file sharing platform) between May 28 and 31, 2023. Millions of individuals and hundreds of organizations were impacted by the same cyberattack. The type of information exposed may include:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Driver’s license number
  • Financial information (credit card number, bank account number)
  • Address
