Conifer Health Data Breach Investigation

Conifer Revenue Cycle Solutions, a subsidiary of Conifer Health Solutions, announced a data breach that involved sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information belonging to a potentially large number of individuals.
Conifer discovered the alleged data breach and determined that an unauthorized actor may have gained access to their network through a business email account as early as January 2022. The subsequent investigation also revealed that compromised data may have belonged to patients of St. Francis Hospital, Hilton Head Hospital, Baptist Health System, Resolute Health Hospital, The Hospitals of Providence – Memorial Campus, Valley Baptist Medical Center – Brownsville, Valley Baptist Medical Center – Harlingen, and Brookwood Baptist Medical Center.
What information was compromised?
In August 2022, Conifer determined that the following data may have been leaked:
- Name
- Date of birth
- Address
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number or identification card number
- Financial account information
- Medical and/or treatment information
- Health insurance and billing information
