What Happened at Eastern Radiologists?

Eastern Radiologists, Inc. identified a security incident that may have impacted the sensitive patient information of hundreds of thousands. On January 26, 2024, upon completion of an internal investigation, we determined that some of your information may have been involved in this incident.

The outfit began identifying suspicious activity on their IT network on November 24, 2023 and hired cybersecurity experts to investigate. They later concluded that an unauthorized party accessed their network between November 20, 2023 and November 24, 2023, and may have copied some documents. The compromised files contained information that could have included the following: patients’ name, contact information, Social Security number, insurance information, exam and/or procedure information, referring physician, diagnosis information and/or imaging results.

On March 4, 2024, Eastern Radiologists began notifying all patients whose information was impacted and for whom we have sufficient contact information. According to a notice filed with the HHS, the security breach exposed the sensitive information of 886,746 patients.
