Bayer Roundup Settlement Proposal

Bayer's subsidiary Monsanto announced a proposed $7.25 billion nationwide class settlement this week, designed to resolve thousands of Roundup cancer lawsuits alleging that the popular weedkiller caused Non-Hodgkin lymphoma in long-term users. The proposed settlement was filed in St. Louis Circuit Court in Missouri and still requires judicial approval before any payments are distributed.

The deal would cover both current plaintiffs and individuals diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma in the future, up to 16 years after the settlement receives final court approval. Payments would be made annually for as many as 21 years, with individual compensation varying based on factors like age at diagnosis and the severity of illness.
