Elixir Medical Corporation, a privately held medical device maker based in Milpitas, California, has notified current and former employees that hackers accessed its computer network in July 2026, exposing sensitive personal and financial information. Contact our legal team to learn more.

What happened at Elixir Medical?

An unauthorized party breached Elixir Medical's network between July 20 and July 21, 2026. The company launched an internal investigation to determine which files may have been compromised.

By August 11, 2026, that review confirmed the exposed files included human resources records tied to current and former employees and certain beneficiaries or dependents connected to those individuals.

What information was exposed?

According to Elixir Medical's notification, the affected files may have contained:

  • Full names
  • Social Security numbers
  • Driver's license numbers
  • Credit and debit card numbers
  • Medical information
  • Direct deposit bank account details

The company has not released the total number of individuals affected.

Elixir Medical, which develops technology for treating coronary and peripheral artery disease, reported the incident to the California Attorney General on September 4, 2026, as required under state breach notification law. The company is offering affected individuals a year of complimentary credit monitoring through Experian IdentityWorks and has set up a dedicated response line for questions.

When a company holding Social Security numbers and medical records fails to prevent unauthorized access, the people whose data was exposed can face years of exposure to medical identity theft and fraud. Legal action may be a good option.
