Consumers purchasing health and wellness products online may reasonably expect to understand exactly what they are buying and how much they will be charged. Recent online complaints involving Nuflos, a company that markets lymphatic drainage drops and other wellness products, have raised questions about automatic refills, recurring charges and cancellation practices.

Nuflos Automatic Subscription Complaints

Nuflos has received hundreds of consumer reviews on Trustpilot, including numerous recent complaints concerning unexpected recurring shipments and charges. Some consumers say they believed they were making a one-time purchase but later received additional products or discovered recurring charges on their payment cards.

One U.S. reviewer reported spending approximately $250 after allegedly expecting a single purchase and said attempts to cancel and obtain a refund were unsuccessful. Other reviewers have described receiving additional bottles before using their original supply.

Nuflos disputes the suggestion that customers are automatically enrolled in subscriptions with every purchase. In responses posted to consumer reviews, the company says customers can select a discounted “Automatic Refills” option during checkout.

These are consumer reviews and allegations, not established facts; Nuflos has denied wrongdoing, and no court has found Nuflos negligent or liable in connection with these allegations.

According to Nuflos, selecting that option provides an additional discount and enrolls the customer in recurring replenishments approximately every 28 days, while consumers who do not select the option can make a regular one-time purchase. The company has also said that it provides information concerning recurring charges and cancellation.

The Federal Trade Commission has specifically identified recurring billing and difficult cancellation procedures as areas of consumer-protection concern.

The FTC has also advised consumers to preserve records when they believe they have been charged for a subscription they did not authorize. Relevant records can include order confirmations, screenshots of checkout pages, emails, cancellation requests, payment statements and communications with customer service. Those records can help establish what a consumer was told before purchasing and what happened afterward.

For consumers who purchased Nuflos products and experienced unexpected recurring charges, the central questions may include whether the automatic-refill terms were adequately disclosed, whether the consumer knowingly agreed to recurring billing, whether cancellation requests were honored and whether charges continued after cancellation.

Deceptive Billing Practices Lawsuits

Consumers who believe they were improperly enrolled in a Nuflos subscription or charged for products they did not knowingly authorize may wish to preserve their purchase and billing records and speak with a consumer-protection attorney.

The Lyon Firm investigates potential deceptive marketing and consumer-protection claims and can evaluate whether individual complaints may reflect a broader pattern of conduct.
