In August 2020, Ibex Global Solutions first learned that a malware attack on its network may have impacted some of its systems. Ibex took these systems offline at the time and launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party data breach experts.

The investigation confirmed that certain data on the Ibex systems may have been accessed without authorization and not until June 2021 did they determine that the potentially impacted folders included information related to individuals may have included the following:

  • Name
  • Addresses
  • Social Security numbers
  • Dates of birth
  • Medical information

In July 2021 Ibex determined the full scope of the data breach and the types of protected data associated with impacted individuals. Ibex then began contacting around 174,000 potentially impacted individuals.
