After dozens of recent reports of burn injuries around the country, Best Buy started recalling around 930,000 Insignia pressure cookers. The recalled pressure cookers allegedly have incorrect volume markings on the pot which can lead consumers to dangerously overfill it with contents. Scalding hot food and liquids may spill from the pressure cooker when vented using the quick release method or opened prematurely while its contents are still pressurized.

Best Buy has received at least 31 reports of serious incidents in which the cooker contents were expelled under pressure. The CPSC has reported 17 burn injuries, including second-degree and other severe burns. This recall involves the Insignia Multi-Function Pressure Cookers with model numbers NS-MC60SS8, NS-MC60SS9, or NS-MC80SS9, and inner cooker pots with model numbers NS-MCRP6NS9 and NS-MCRP6SS9.

The INSIGNIA brand name appears on the front of each unit and on its permanent label. The inner cooking pots are black with a non-stick coating and the incorrect embossed markings.
