In July 2025, Celularity Inc., a New Jersey biotechnology company, announced a partnership to supply stem cell therapy products to Fountain Life, a longevity clinic network. Five months later, on December 1, 2025, the FDA sent Celularity a warning letter. The Lyon Firm is now investigating consumer concerns about stem cell marketing connected to these companies. Contact our consumer fraud attorneys to learn more and to weigh your legal options.
The letter addresses Interfyl, a placental connective tissue matrix that Celularity manufactures and Arthrex distributes for orthopedic surgery. The FDA wrote that Interfyl is an unapproved new drug and an unlicensed biological product, based on how it was promoted for tendon injuries, inflammation and wound healing.
The warning letter does not mention Fountain Life or the stem cell products Celularity said it would supply. In a securities filing, Celularity said it takes the matters seriously and plans to work with the FDA. The company also said the letter does not restrict its ability to manufacture or ship products.
Celularity’s announcement said Fountain Life would offer therapies under a Florida law that took effect July 1, 2025. That law lets licensed physicians use certain stem cell products for orthopedics, wound care and pain management without an investigational new drug approval.
Although Fountain Life’s website states that stem cell therapy is not FDA approved and encourages members to consult their primary care provider, there have been consumer questions about misleading advertising in the industry. The site lists centers in Dallas, New York, Orlando, Naples and Houston, with Miami and Los Angeles coming soon. It says stem cell therapies are available at selected centers.
